What to include in your message: add your full name, email address, and one category choice (Lions, Tigers, or Pistons). Give your photo a short title and write a one or two sentence caption that explains the moment or idea. Use a clear subject line so we can find your entry fast, for example: DetroitPhotoClub Submission - Lions - October. Name your file using ASCII letters and numbers with no spaces, for example lions1.jpg or pistons1.png. Submissions must be your original work and must match the monthly theme. If a person is clearly recognizable, confirm you have permission to share the image on this class site. By sending an entry you agree that the club may display the image on the site during the contest and in the Winners gallery if selected. You keep full copyright to your work and may remove the image after the course ends by emailing the admin.

How to prepare your file: keep the image under 1 MB or the server may remove it. A long edge of about 900 to 1200 px loads quickly and still looks sharp on most screens. On Windows, resize with Photos or Paint and save as JPG around quality 70 to 85. On Mac, use Preview, Tools, Adjust Size, then File, Export as JPEG. On iPhone or Android, share a Medium or Large size from the Photos app, or use a simple online resizer. If you are sending a GIF, trim frames, lower fps, and reduce colors to keep the file small. Before attaching, confirm the filename is ASCII only and the image opens correctly on your device. In your email, include a suggested alt text and title line so we can post the entry accessibly, for example: alt Detroit baseball glove and ball on a bench, title Tigers still life on wood bench.

After you send the message, check your Sent folder to confirm the email left your device with the file attached. If your mail app did not launch or you saw a security warning, you can still vote and submit by using the direct email link on the Home page and typing the same details manually. If you do not see your entry appear on the site after a reasonable time, reply to your Sent email and ask for a quick status check. Please send only one entry per month to keep judging fair. Edits should be limited to modest crop, straightening, noise control, and exposure or color correction. Do not include watermarks or large signatures that could influence voting. If a rule is unclear, ask in Live Chat before you submit so your image is set up for success.

Attach your image file to the email that opens. Allowed formats: JPG, PNG, or WebP. Max size 1 MB. Use a file name like lastname_title.jpg.
